One response to “Coke’s alt accelerator”

Most of these stories about not particular good companies doing “innovative” things are purely for PR purposes and nothing more.
Take Googles 20% time. At first glance it’s a way to give employees a chance to work on their own projects. In reality it’s a way to tap into employees creativity and then own their ideas. If they really cared about giving their employees time to work on their own projects they’d change to a 4 day week and remove all “benefits” designed to keep employees in the office late.
Virgins “unlimited holidays” is the latest example. I bet the average days taken for leave at Virgins drops when this policy is introduced. Without a minimum day requirement, it’s purely for PR purposes.
