I always advise to have your own domain, otherwise you are locked into their system and never know if the blog provider is going turn off/limit their service in the future. Also with the availability of open source blogging software it is fairly easy to do.

I’d totally agree about hosting a blog yourself, plus WordPress is pretty much the best platform out there! Go open source!

Mr Mayfield – I’m a big fan of this new look blog. Have been thinking about moving mine over to a tasty wordpress theme, but been a bit nervous about the whole thing. Yours looks ace. I might have to have another tinker with it.
