LG Chocolate blog revisited…

The LG’s strong showing in the Shiny Awards gave me cause to go back and check out the  LG Chocolate blog, run by the team at Hill & Knowlton and that we discussed a while back. I was impressed to note:

a. It’s still going.

b. It has signs of attention that aren’t too shabby for a campaign blog (a smattering of Bloglines and Technorati links)

c. A Google Page Rank of 5 (out of 10 – nae too bad).

d. They’ve taken the concept of a campaign blog on to the new line of “Shine” phones.

BTW – here’s one of the latest bloggers to be approached by H&K to try out an LG phone. They put up a lot of caveats to make sue their readers know they aren’t being paid but end up loving the phone, with only a few reservations…

Great stuff, really, H&K…  hats off. Note – this stuff only works with great products.

  1. High praise indeed – many thanks. You are spot on about needing a great product in the first place, though (or at least 90% great – bloggers have no problem telling us about the 10% that isn’t!!).

You may be interested to know that the Chocolate blogger relations campaign is also up for a Revolution Award next month. Fingers crossed…

  2. Cool – we’ll cheer you on from our table, Niall – will you be there?

  3. We certainly will. An awards dinner on a non-school night is unheard of. Wouldn’t miss it for the world. Will be sure to throw food at you ;-)

  4. Antony, first off’thanks for the link’. I can only praise HK for the great contact and their bloggers campaigns.

Only a few emails went back and forth and there was the phone already.
    Full disclosure policy.
Fair linking strategy and even after the first review post (which got a mention on the Shine blog as well) the contact stayed.
And a great product as well.

It has been a pleasure to work with HK and I would repeat this anytime and again gladly invest more than just a quick and dirty entry, just as a reward for the great contact.

Hat tip (and more than one)to HK.

  6. You’re welcome, Franky – and it’s really good to hear it done right by an agency.

  7. Hello there, Antony. Good to note that you are thriving in Brighton. Nice of you to flag H&K’s commitment to blogging.

Speaking from inside the agency, I can confirm that both Niall, Gaylene and the rest of the LG team are pretty darned authentic – no cynical bloggers here!

Now, how come I didn’t get an invite to the Revolution Awards…?

Here’s how to make delicious chocolate covered strawberries. First of all ensure that the strawberries you are intending

to use are dry, then allow them to be room temperature warm prior to making them. After the strawberries have been

covered in chocolate, put them in your refrigerator to cool, but do not store them in the fridge. Consume within 1-2

    days.
