Lego a victim of tasteless spoof ads

Lego are undoubted leaders in working with their online communities. I heard Tormod Askildsen talk about the lessons they’d learned in doing just that at the Forrester Consumer conference in November and he was an inspiration.

Now there’s a selection of ads showing disasters with the Lego logo and

Sensibly, AdRants is asking if they are leaked fakes or the real deal.

To me they look very fake indeed. The quality alone says that an ad agency of Saatchi & Saatchi’s pedigree wouldn’t put this stuff out.  

Ads of the World is crediting a team at Saatchi & Saatchi China with them. Hmm.

And the YouTube video has a message urging people to email the Saatchi & Saatchi creative director involved to protest. Elaborate prank? Malicious?

You’d hope so.

One more reason to have effective ways of hearing what people are saying about your brand online, no? And that goes for agencies too…
