This is a timely post. On last nights ITV news, the piece on car smuggling gangs neatly illustrated the journey of stolen cars from a breakers yard in east london to a Lagos slum using Google Earth which was clearly branded in the top right corner of the screen.

Not pompous at all. I saw that Sky News was using Google Earth as well to zoom in on locations of the latest police raids of suspected terrorists…

Google and BA haven’t missed a trick: they just didn’t use YouTube.
They used Google’s own Google Video, and the resulting ads can be viewed here:
