Spannerworks – the first days

I’m about to head off for my third day at Spannerworks. Just going through that strange first week period where you are learning on about hundred levels at once – from this is our core business strategy to this is where we keep the spoons to let’s-play-remembering-all-40-of-your-new-colleagues’ names at once game.

But all is going well. People are friendly, office is nice, projects are already rolling. (Colleagues at Harvard will be delighted to hear I located the cafetiere within minutes of arriving.)

I’m especially enjoying being in Brighton & Hove in this glorious weather and  having a shorter commute – I’m planning to cycle along the seafront today which should take about 10 minutes.

Thanks again to everyone who emailed or who left comments on my post about joining the company in the last few days – it was really nice to get the kind thoughts, best wishes and gentle ribbing (which amount to the same thing in the UK).

  1. Antony…nice to see you’ve made it back to Brighton. I’m very jealous! Kate
