Fuelled by recent online successes such as the stellar launch of Comment is Free and awards aplenty, the Guardian has been shamelessly open about its plans for world domination.
Carolyn McCall, the chief executive of Guardian Newspapers Limited, told the World Newspaper Congress in Moscow that "Our ambition is to be the leading global liberal voice."
She went on to say that Comment is Free would be taken to America. Not sure how much is lost in the translation there, as I’m pretty sure contributors and commenters from the US are already taking part in the discussion there. Perhaps there will be some more promotion in the US for the site…
