Big in China

Hello to the first Chinese readers of Open…

Taking a look at the hits from yesterday on Open, I could see that someone had used Google translate to view a page in Chinese. Here’s what they saw, dear readers (click on image for full-size):

Google_translate

Or look here at a whole load of blog in Chinese. Really now, that’s cool.

Here’s a fun way to erratically and entertainingly browse Chinese blogs. Copy a character from the Chinese version of Open. Put it into standard Google with the word blog in English. Click on the translate automatically option against any of the results.

Automatic translation is far from perfect, but it’s good enough to pick up the gist of what’s being said and gives some brilliantly enigmatic, almost poetic, crossword-clue-like phrases. A couple of headlines on the first blog I saw read: "When says goodbye to the Nobel Prize dwarf?" and "The water changes the oil, who does the absurd farce let".

Here’s my post about he BBC translated back into English:

According to widely reported this week in blogs, BBC is  running a
time of experiment to give any person to pass over its file news
content.

I enough crow about the BBC fuel feed innovation outside the new
medium and in inside its organization’s way, so I cannot continue. I
pay attention an interesting aspect is Beeb arrives investment
creative file Licence, inspires by the opening origin movement
creative common method affirmation to the copyright.

I was not possible am populace’s middle re purposing this content by
now, but even so its pleasure (was tech/history/news becoming addicted
like I) glances over the report gate rumor is opens "and the"
ventilator including "the Brandenburg gathers is Elvis funeral". I
will be strict and watch looked any feed merchant and the indie
producer will do with this content.
