Wednesday will see Reuters launch a bureau in the virtual world:
Starting on Wednesday, Reuters plans to begin publishing text, photo and video news from the outside world for Second Life members and news of Second Life for real world readers who visit a Reuters news site at: http://secondlife.reuters.com/
Actually it already seems to be live already, complete with charts on currency rates of the US dollar to the Linden dollar and the amount of trading in the virtual world – ye gods!
I’m torn between scorn and fascination. The cynic in me can’t help but mock anything that looks like a bandwagon. And yet, and yet.. I’m fascinated too. And want to be trying out stuff in SL myself. I will too, when I get five minutes…
