Take the Tuk Tuk to work

Tuk Tuks started operating in Brighton & Hove yesterday. I saw a mini-parade of them go past out of my office window yesterday, the lead one liveried in a Union Jack pattern.

It was one of those "only in Brighton" moments…

Or I suppose, Bombay or Bangkok, but I’m pretty sure we’re the only UK city to have a fleet of Tuk Tuks. London and some other cities may follow suit soon (if enough Brightonians survive the pilot scheme)…

They will be running along  a few set routes, I understand, for a fare of about £2.50 a journey. I may forgo my bike one day soon to catch one to work.

I expect a picture of one will make it onto my Spannerworks colleague Dean Harvey’s Brighton Daily Photo blog…
