Digg: it’s a man’s world

Stats about the mighty Digg’s users’ demographics have been published by Federated Media, as follows:

94% male

88% 18-39

64% HHI above $75k

52% IT professionals, developers or engineers

26% managers or above

39% publish their own blog

I wonder how long it will be before that gender balance evens out a little? And 39% publishing their own blog – amazing.

So far the re-launched site seems to be good, but I (reluctantly) agree with PSFK that it is disappointing in some regards and AOL’s imitation Digg is beginning to look attractive. Certainly it doesn’t feel like the changes have gone far enough to make it mainstream contender.

I’m going to try out the beta of Netscape for a while in a direct comparison – I’ll let you know how I get on.

P.S. Weird ad, eh? That old contextual voodoo doesn’t always pan out like they hope…
