Four things

I
can’t resist lists, being male and a PR
consultant, best of lists are part of my hard-wiring. So when Stephen Davies
tagged me at PR Blogger I’m afraid I have to bend the meme and supply my own
four things…

Four Jobs I’ve Had

  • Cocktail
    barman
(sounds more glamorous, eh? – no juggling bottles (I’m a clumsy man) but
I do understand the basics of mixology, knowledge that has served me well in
    life thus far)
  • Accounts
    clerk
in the City (not many people know, or will believe that one. I left after
destroying a data centre single-handedly with halon gas)
  • Court
    reporter
(all human life passes through Richmond magistrates court, and it’s a
    goodway to learn the trade)
  • Credit card call centre operative (summer of my graduation spent taking abuse – not an easy job at all)

Four Movies I Can Watch Over and Over

  • The
    Thin Red Line
("Who lit this flame in us?" – Big screen poetry – genius)
  • The
    Big Lebowski
("You see what happens, Donny?" – Just the best thing
    ever.)
  • Goodfellas
    ("Ever since I remember…" – Scorsese’s high note…)
  • The
    Godfather: Part II
("I know it was you, Fredo. You broke my heart. You
broke my heart." – BTW I’m going to become a Godfather next weekend, and
am hastily arranging gruesome ends for all mine enemies to celebrate the event.)

Four TV Shows I Love to Watch

  • Curb
    Your Enthusiasm
("Why would you do that, Larry?")
  • The
    Sopranos
("She’s dead to me." – It’s losing something by going on two
long. Series one is perfection. The rest are just shades of brilliant.)
  • Grand
    Designs
    ("They’ve created. Something. Really… Special.")
  • Shameless
("Tony-bloody-Blair, that’s who!" – honest to goodness comedy and
    drama like there’s never been.)

Four Places I’ve Been to on Holiday

  • South
    Africa
  • Thailand
  • Italy
  • Provence

All
of these places are little bits of paradise… and have great restaurants.

Four Favorite Dishes

  • Pad
    Thai
    – so many variations in the world – all worth tasting.
  • Salt
    & Pepper Squid
    – done well, it’s the best Chinese dish ever.
  • Kudu – the best red meat on earth…
  • Cheese
    board
    – life without cheese would not be worth living.

Four Websites I Visit Daily

Four Places I’d Rather Be

  • Brighton
    & Hove seafront
    – any and every day, the best place for a walk in the morning and a
    barbecue at sunset.
  • Sussex
    countryside
    – rolling loveliness as far as the eye can see. Pubs in such
abundance and variety as to send a man insane. Or drunk.
  • Umbria
    – hyper-real lush countryside, and the most beautiful Italian city, Perugia.
  • Southwold
    – I’ve never been anywhere more deeply and instantly relaxing – the perfect
    English summer seaside town.
